Jonas Lund

Jonas Lund is a Swedish artist based in Amsterdam. His work revolves around the mechanisms that constitute contemporary art production, its market and the established ‘art world’. Lund employs a wide variety of media, combining software-based works with performance, installation, video, photography and sculptures –works that have an underlying foundation in writing code. By approaching the art world system from a programmatic point of view, the work engages through a criticality largely informed by algorithms and ‘Big Data’. Lund’s work is an attempt to question the way we operate within systems and what effects and affects this has on art, and perhaps even propose a better system. Some of his latest projects includes Paint Your Pizza, Public Access Me and an attempt to break the Guiness World Book Of Records of most comments on a Facebook post.
