American artist Paul Slocum reprogrammed an Epson LQ-500 dot matrix printer into a synthesizer – to play electronic notes in accordance with different printing frequencies. Several versions of the Dot Matrix Synth were made – one for live performance, one for play back sequences, and one for gallery installation.
